Worth the Detour
About us

Worth the Detour is a travel advisory boutique based in Mexico City. We design completely personalized itineraries for people who want to travel well with judgment, with context, and without generic routes.

We're not an agency.

We don't sell packages.

We don't use templates.

Every trip we design starts from zero, built around how each client actually travels: their pace, their budget, what they eat, what they drink, what they want to feel when they get back home.

What we do

Your trip starts here.

01

Personalized itineraries

A complete day-by-day plan with logical routes, real timing, what to see, where to eat, what to drink, and what to skip. Curated to your traveler profile, not the average tourist's.

02

Curated food and wine

Restaurants selected on real criteria — local product, honest cooking, no tourist traps. Wines by region and season. Markets, producers, private tasting experiences where it makes sense.

03

Hidden gems

The places that never show up on TikTok or any blog: viewpoints with no tourists, local neighborhoods, corner cafés, villages 40 minutes from the main tourist spot — the kind of find that makes people ask how you knew about it.

04

Shopping with judgment

Where the locals shop. What's actually worth bringing home from each destination: workshop ceramics, artisan textiles, secondhand bookstores, niche perfumeries, antique markets.

05

Emergency protocol

Every itinerary includes embassy numbers, trusted clinics by city, what to do if you lose your passport or miss a connection, must-have apps, and recommended insurance. You don't travel alone — you travel with real information for every scenario.

06

Full trip management

For those who want to hand off everything: flights, hotels, activities, transfers, reservations. You just pack your bags.

07

Itinerary app

All your travel plans in one place, accessible from your phone. Your full itinerary, maps, reservations, tips, and emergency protocol — always with you, no printing, no digging through email.

Destinations

Japan. Italy. China. Greece. Picture any destination — with everything important already handled.

But on top of that, you get your personalized detour: the secret stuff, what never shows up in a blog, what actually gives you stories worth telling.

“I saw the Eiffel Tower.” “I saw the Shibuya crossing.”

“We found an underground wine cellar in Siena, with a restaurant attached — turned out they were the producers too.”

“In a hidden neighborhood in Japan we had the best curry of our lives, listening to vinyl, chatting with the owner as best we could.”

(That's right... Japan isn't just nigiri.)

Why WTD

Because you can spend days on Google, open tabs, and TikTok videos where everyone goes to the same place — or you can have someone who's already been there, who knows which hotel exaggerates its photos, which restaurant with a thousand reviews disappoints, and which trattoria with no English name on the door changed the whole trip.
