Why we love booking through Booking.com (and not just hotels)

We get asked a lot where we book when we're planning our own trips, so let's get straight to it: we love Booking.com. And not just for hotels — we've tried it for flights, rental cars, and attractions too, and overall it's always come through for us.

What we like about using it

Everything in one place. You can put together practically the whole trip without jumping between ten different tabs — flight, rental car, the tour you want to do on day two, and the hotel, all under the same account.

Flexible cancellation on most bookings. Travel plans change, and not having to fight for a refund when that happens is worth a lot.

Good coverage even in smaller destinations. It's not just strong in big cities — we've found solid options in small towns and less obvious destinations where other platforms come up short.

When we'd rather book direct with the hotel

That said, it's not always Booking. Sometimes we book directly with the hotel — especially when we already know the property, when there's a real perk to booking direct (an upgrade, breakfast included, a better negotiated rate), or when it's a small boutique place where dealing directly just feels better.

At the end of the day, the platform is just a tool. What actually makes the difference is the curation — which hotel, in what area, booked which way — and that's always part of what we build into your itinerary.
